- True and longstanding friendship is one of the most recognizable of human relationships.

- If you find yourself wondering if the guys sitting next to you are mobsters, there’s a reasonable chance that they are. But there’s also a reasonable chance that you’re superimposing a pretty rigid archetype.
- The expression “mind the gap” exists for a reason.
- While kindness is possibly a default setting for human beings, it’s also much more obviously a choice we make over and over again.
- Sometimes people tell you they’ll show up and they don’t, sometimes they tell you they’ll show up and they do. When they do, it can be shocking, but even more it’s humbling and awesome, a gift meant to be received.
